Greetings to a New Day

This morning I happened to wake up and noticed the sky just turning pink - it was about 6:30 am. Thinking I might catch the sun rise, I quietly dressed and headed out to the beach and was treated to an amazing sight. At first I thought I would miss a good sunrise - there were clouds at the horizon. But after sitting and just watching, the sun's glow came through a few clouds, then it rose above the clouds and presented the new day.

Here is one minute of that sunrise. To think, this happens every single morning. What a blessing to know that every morning is a brand new day!

Sometimes You Can't Resist

I was eating a banana the other day and read the sticker, which I promptly stuck on my head for a picture.

Now here is the thing I don't get - how do they trademark that?? :-)

Made ya smile!

Getting Back Into It

Well now that the crazy hours and a trip up north have concluded - I hope to do some catching up this week!!

I got in a 5 miler on Sunday evening - I felt tired the entire time but got it done. In fact, I feel tired quite a bit, even with a full night's rest. Guess I am still in "recovery."

I hope to get a podcast out this week along with a race report from the Corporate 5K. Since I haven't really been training hard, I am thinking of taking it easy on the 5K and run-walking it with my daughter.

Hoping to catch up on my blogging soon! Everyone has been soooooo busy! And what an exciting Boston Marathon today!

Run strong everyone!

Back from the Abyss and Simply Stu Results

Sorry I disappeared there for a bit....I was working crazy hours and any time I had at home was sleeping or catching up with the family.

The work thing has concluded and things should be getting back to normal....whatever that is :-).

A short report on my Simply Stu...my first ever attempt at a tri event of any kind.

First stage was the Winter Park 10K - details on the previous post. 10K in 1:03:57, a PR for me.

Second stage was the swim. I headed to the local pool, and with no training prep whatsoever decided to swim for 10 minutes - 300 yards in 10 minutes.

The third stage was the bike - and after struggling with finding a time and weather condition, I rode an exercise cycle at my workplace gym. 2 miles in about 10 minute I think...

So that is my brief report. I am on the road for the week - heading to Providence, RI for the first part of the week - a couple of days with my mom in PA in the middle of the week - then finishing at Ft. Monmouth, NJ before heading home late on Friday. I hope to be running with my iRiver!

Congratulations to those who completed the London Marathon!!! Well done!
